Feminism is NOT misandry. Feminism is not about disempowering men (which isn’t possible, anyway).
What feminism can, and often does, do is have a very limited idea of Woman - white, straight, cis, American (or at least, developed Western nation) and abled. Women who are of color, queer, trans, disabled, “foreign” and/or poor are often forgotten altogether. So if you’re going to have compassion for and put your attention toward helping anyone, put it toward them. They need the support.
Men will be fine, and derailing conversations about sexism with “but what about men!?” or accusations that the oppressed fighting for equality somehow disempowers the oppressor will earn you an eye roll if not a verbal ass-kicking.
Ragnarök and roll - Evidently, this needs to be reiterated
fuck yeah. this feels especially important after the conversations i had last night.
